Highland - DODDER Cemetery, Douglas County, Kansas - 5 miles east of Overbrook on Hwy 56 at intersection 300E & 300N (NE corner) or 9.1 miles west of Hwy 59 on Hwy 56 in Marion Township. Sign missing for cemetery, seen from road at NE corner and is maintained by Douglas County. This cemetery was walked, digitally photographed and transcribed by Cindy L. Marcell on Aug. 11, 2004.

All transcriptions compared to Complete Tombstone Census of Douglas Co., Kansas, V 2, 1987, p 345-6. This book reveals the land was originally owned by Josiah Sholbert, then Dr. J. E. Deming, and lastly by Marshall Dodder. First grave reportedly Marhsall Dodders friends child in 1875 followed by Peter Dodder (Marhsalls father) in 1875. The cemetery was not surveyed and plotted until 1882 and is recorded in the plat book No. 2 in Douglas County Court House on April 25, 1882. Last burial said to be of Addie Dodder Huston on August 15, 1948.
