Ancestry trees have badly confused this Martha with Martha Ann Gabbard, daughter of Elijah G. Gabbard & Sarah Sephens who was married to Coleman D. Richardson.

Melcena may have been the daughter of Samuel Casteel (1839-1897) but he was never married to her mother. She is found online as Melcena Casteel Gabbard and Melcena Gabbard Casteel.
