Ryan built several historically and technically significant aircraft, but its most successful production aircraft would be the Ryan Firebee line of unmanned drones used as targets and unmanned air vehicles. The company was sold to Teledyne in 1969 for $128,000,000 - then became part of Northrup Grumman when they bought Teledyne in 1999, with the products continuing to form the core of that firm's unmanned aerial vehicle efforts..
