Gladys Cox, 86, of Fayetteville died Friday, May 2, 2008, in Conway.
She was born July 28, 1921, in Sunset, the daughter of Jack H. and Gertie L. Evans Davis. She baby-sat many children who knew her as Granny Cox, and she loved them all. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Cox, who died March 30, 1998.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Cox Watson and husband Col. John, USMC retired, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Trella Cox Nabholz and husband Eddie of Conway; two brothers, Eldon Davis of Patrick and Weldon "Sonny" Davis of the Round Mountain community; four sisters, Mary "Bunch" Dennis of Fayetteville, Jerryldene Payton of Fayetteville, and Carmel Elkins and Flo Taber, both of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren, Sheri Arceo and husband Ernesto of Jacksonville, Fla., and Anna Nabholz and Rachael Nabholz, both of Conway; and five great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Daniel, Anastasia, Felicia and Max Arceo, all of Jacksonville, Fla.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Moore's Chapel with Brother Toby Bane officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
