81. Hiram W. GABBARD was born in 1823 in Kentucky. He died on 18 March 1888 at the age of 65 in Dugger, Sullivan County, Indiana.

There is more than one Hiram of about the same age. Online databases show that John & Elizabeth Loar had a son Hiram born say 1823 and that he married a Nancy.

From Madison Co KY records: Hiram W. Gabbart, bond to marry Nancy Dowden, dated 22 Jul 1841. Michael Dowden was bondsman. John Gabbart, father of the groom, gave consent - so Hiram probably not yet of age. No minister's return.

The only Hiram Gabbard found in Kentucky of similar age in 1850 was the Hiram son of Jacob Gabbard Jr & Susannah in Owsley Co KY - he was still at home with them.

Perhaps Nancy died, and Hiram remarried - the following is apparently correct.

Others say that this Hiram married Arminda Hester (nee Arminda Hart). This Hiram seems a bit more likely. If so, he was living in Nevins Twp, Vigo Co, IN in 1860. P.O. Terre Haute, Hh 1253

Hiram W. GABBARD and Nancy DOWDEN were married on 22 July 1841 in Madison County, Kentucky. Nancy DOWDEN was born in 1820. She died before 1854 at the age of 34.

Hiram W. GABBARD and Arminda "Minnie" HART were married on 21 July 1854 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Arminda "Minnie" HART was born on 30 January 1825 in Madison County, Alabama. She died on 27 February 1904 at the age of 79 in Dugger, Sullivan County, Indiana.
