Ree Gabbard, 93, formerly of Beattyville, retired farmer, husband of Lucy Tackett Gabbard, died yesterday. Services 2:30 p.m. today at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home. Visitation 1:30 p.m. today and 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Newnam Funeral Home in Beattyville. Contributions suggested to Lexington Center Activities Program.

Ree GABBARD and Lucy Margaret TACKETT were married on 2 July 1925 in Travellers Rest, Owsley County, Kentucky.27 Lucy Margaret TACKETT, daughter of Joseph Newton TACKETT and Susan BEGLEY, was born on 7 December 1906 in Earnestville, Owsley County, Kentucky.27 She died on 28 September 2000 at the age of 93 in Fayette County, Kentucky. She was also known as [Daughter] Tackett.

Lucy Margaret Tackett Gabbard, 93, of Lexington, Ky., died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at the Lexington Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Dec. 7, 1906, in Travelers Rest, Ky., she was the daughter of Joseph Newton and Susie Begley Tackett.
Mrs. Gabbard was the widow of Ree Gabbard, whom she married on July 2, 1925. They celebrated 71 years together before he died Dec. 7, 1996.
Mrs. Gabbard was a homemaker and a partner in all her husband's farming activities. She was a member of the Ida May Bible Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Josephine Gabbard Wallace and her husband, David Wallace, of Oak Ridge, Betty Ann Furgison and her husband, Richard Furgison, of Batesburg, S.C., and Linda Lou Huff and her husband, Conrad Huff, of Lexington; and two sons, Robert Paul Gabbard and his wife, Rose Marie Gabbard, of Beattyville, Ky., and Jackie Glyn Gabbard and his wife, Lou Gabbard, of Boiling Springs, S.C.
Mrs. Gabbard is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Loretta Noe, Ronald Gabbard and Dennis Gabbard, all of Hamilton, Ohio, Paulette Rennecker of Burnside, Ky., John Paul Gabbard of Versailles, Ky., Donna Smith of Kingston, Cathy Smith of Powell, Robert Wallace of Winchester, Nancy Chrisman of Nashville, Debbie Bobbitt of Sterling, Va., Barbara Steffy of Jacksonville, Fla., Nancy Derajtys of Keller, Texas, Timothy Gabbard of Camden, Ohio, and Thomas Gabbard and Teresa Price, both of Miamisburg, Ohio; and by 29 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents, another son, Loraine Donald Gabbard, and his wife, Pauline Creech Gabbard, died earlier. Ten brothers and three sisters are also deceased.
The funeral was held Sunday, Oct. 1, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington. Hospice chaplain John Rudd, assisted by David Wallace, officiated.
Burial was Monday, Oct. 2, at the Gabbard-Tackett Family Cemetery in Travelers Rest.
