This appears to be the second son named Palestine. At least one other researcher has listed him as Kennedy.

Palestine Kennedy GABBARD and Corley BOWMAN were married about 1913. Corley BOWMAN, daughter of Garrett Benton BOWMAN and Matilda CRANK, was born in September 1896 in Kentucky.

PENDLETON — Janie (Hammond) Whitmore, 73, died Jan. 18, 2012, at Saint John's Medical Center in Anderson.
Born Oct. 31, 1938, in Anderson, she was a longtime Pendleton resident. Janie was employed at Fisher Guide in Anderson, from 1973 to 1998.
She was a 1957 graduate of Pendleton High School. She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 663. She was a huge NASCAR fan especially Jeff Gordon. She enjoyed watching Peyton Manning and the Colts. Janie was known as the "P-town Mudder Mother." She was an avid mushroom hunter. She loved walking in the woods and walking on the beach and collecting seashells. Janie's life was her family.
Survivors include children, Frank Alan (wife, Kathy) Whitmore of Shirley and Leslie Jane (husband, Brian) Gibson of Summitville; brothers, Dave (wife, Pat) Hammond and Mark Hammond, all of Pendleton; grandchildren, Caitlin, Dalton, Ashley, Abigail and Lacy; great- grandson, Dakota; many nieces and nephews; special friend and fiancé, Bill Gaw; and many friends and family members whom she loved.
She was preceded in death by father, William Townsend Hammond; mother, Maggie (Meadows) Hammond Gabbard; sister, Susie Moore; and former husband, Frank D. Whitmore.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton, with Pastor Lance Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
