33. Mathias GEBERT^1,6 was christened on 24 February 1728 in Schwaigern, Wuerttemburg, Germany.¹ He died in 1798 in Rockbridge County, Virginia.⁷

Came on the Pennsylvania Merchant in 1731 with his parents.

Philip Wendal, assignee of Chris. Wandall. 17 Feb 1751. 221 acres on Tom's Brook. One of the chain carries was Mathias Gabbert. There is also another mention of Mathias' father Frederick living on Tom's Brook.

Mathias bought land in Augusta Co VA in 1769; moved to Rockbridge Co about 10 years later.
Will dated in 1790 was probated 3 Jul 1798, Rockbridge Co VA.
Sons George, Michael, Peter and John all moved to Kentucky. George was in the 1810 Census in Lincoln Co KY. He died there in 1821. Michael, Peter & John were in Mercer Co for the 1810 Census. John moved to Daviess about 1815 and later had land in both Daviess and Hancock Counties.

46	vi.	George GABBERT¹ died in 1821 in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Married Anne Reed in Rockbridge Co VA. A notebook of surveys in Rockbridge Co VA, returned by Alexander Campbell, 1785, shows a survey for Geor. Gabert on 26 Apr 1785; 47 acres on the North River. George and his brothers Michael, Peter, and John, all moved to Kentucky. George first appeared in the 1810 Census, Lincoln Co. He died there circa 1821.
47	vii.	Michael GABBERT^1,14 was born (date unknown). Married Rachel Reed on 1 Jul 1786, Rockbridge Co VA. They were married by the Rev. John Brown. Michael is in the 1810 Census in Mercer Co, KY.
48	viii.	Peter GABBERT¹ was born (date unknown). Married Sally Coleman on 1 Mar 1793 in Amherst Co VA. Peter is in the 1810 Census, Mercer Co, KY.
49	ix.	John GABBERT^1,14 was born (date unknown). John Gabbert married Judith ?Tilcy, 23 Feb 1792, Rockbridge Co VA. Samuel Houston was the minister. John is in the 1810 Census, Mercer Co KY. He moved to Daviess Co about 1815, later owning land also in Hancock Co.
