53. Catherine GABBERT1 was born about 1757.17

Catherine's name is sometimes seen as Elizabeth, but she appears on deeds with Philip Horn as Catherine.

Phillip Horn received a NC Grant of 150 acres in Sullivan NC in 1780; no record of the sale of this land has been found [Sullivan records were destroyed during the Civil War] and no records have been found in Washington or Carter Co Tennessee. In 1800 Phillip Horn was on the tax rolls across the state line in Washington Co VA. He bought land recorded in DB 3, on 18 Mar 1806. Phillip and a spouse are in the 1810 Washington Co VA census and his last appearance on the tax rolls there is in 1811. He sold a tract of his VA land in 1812 after his residence was recorded as Mercer Co KY. Catherine, wife, appears on this deed.

21 May 1811 William Thomas to Philip Horn. 50 acres on Walkers Mtn at top. DB 4, p.436 [This is the 50 acres called "Solawith" and sold by Henry & Cristina Burke to George Gabbard in 1801. George & wife Catherine sold it to Mathias Gabbard in 1807. In 1808 Mathias sold it to Abraham & Isaac Hortenstine but bought it back two months later. Mathias then sold it to William Thomas the next year.]
19 Aug 1812 Phillip Horn and wife to James Smith Jr. 82 acres [on Mill Pond Crk] The deed was prepared in Mercer Co KY and recorded in Washington Co VA on 19 Apr 1814. Phillip and Catherine Horn signed with their marks.
