(Elizabeth) Eliza Jane Gabbard was my grandmother several times removed. She was born May 5 or 9, 1839 in Jackson Co, Ky and died Jan 1924 and is buried near Flaming Creek Cem in Ark. Her parents were Edward and Sarah Gabbard. Know of the following children:
James A. 1/23/1861, Ky, 10/21/1939 , Madison Co. Ark, wife Sarah Emily Blevens.
Sarah A (Sally), 10/26/1864 Jackson Co, Ky. 3/17/1950 Madison Co. Ky. Husband, George C. Harrison.
Joanna, 5/16/1869, Green Hall, Ky. husband, Jacob Allen Burris.
William Matthew, 5/25/1871 Green Hall, Ky., 10/20/1950. wife, Nancy Davis.
Edward D. Thomas 9/27/1873 Green Hall, Ky., 4/1934. wife Ida Mae Creason
Henry Carter 8/18/1876 Franklin Co, Ky. 7/29/1965, Huntsville, Ark. wife Martha Jane Thomas
Note: two children seem to be unknown - Harvie born in Arkansas in 1881 in missing from the list and there was a child who died.

Eliza Jane GABBARD and George Matthew BAKER were married on 20 December 1860 in Jackson County, Kentucky.33 George Matthew BAKER, son of Thomas BAKER and Joanna ALFORD, was born on 25 August 1841 in Virginia. He served in the military Civil War: Company A, 47th Kentucky Regiment in 1863. He died on 9 April 1921 at the age of 79 in Rocky Comfort, McDonald County, Missouri.79

George said by some to be a gg grandson of John Renta Baker, but that is someone's imagination working overtime. He seems to be of a very different Baker family and the time factor simply doesn't work out.
