Fritz
The Fritz Family of York County, PA
My husband's immigrant Fritz ancestor was George Fritz. He was born April 12, 1825 in Hesse Darmstat, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1847. He arrived at the port of Baltimore on May 19, 1847 aboard the ship Marianne. Also aboard the Marianne was Elizabeth Stroh. She was born on December 6, 1825 in Hesse Darmstat. It is not known whether or not they were acquainted before the voyage, but the two were married September 24, 1848 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Baltimore.
Among the children of George and Elizabeth (Stroh) Fritz was a son George. This second George was married twice, having a total of 13 children. With his first wife Catherine Walker, he had a son George. This third George Fritz in the line married Lucretia Seitz. They were the parents of my husband's maternal grandfather, John H. Fritz.
