Mrs. A. K. Evans, Pottstown Landing
Mary E., wife of Dr. A. K. Evans, a highly-respected resident of Pottstown Landing, passed away into the spirit ??? on Sunday, at 11:40 a.m., without regaining consciousness after a fatal attack of paralysis on Thursday. She had reached the age of 61 years and ? months, and is survived alone by her husband, all of a large family of children being dead. She was a daughter of Samule Shaner, Cedarville, and sister of J. S. Shaner and S. S. Shaner, Pottstown Landing, and S. F. Shaner, Trenton, NJ. She was a member of the Baptist church, of Pottstown for many years and was a lady of many Christian virtues. Mrs. Evans attended the church Sunday School outing at Ringing Rocks Park, last Wednesday, and the next day came her last illness, supposed to have been hastened by over exertion. A wide circle of friends regret her demise. Funeral on Thursday, at the house at 11 a.m. Service in the Pottstown Baptist Church, and interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
