Montgomery Ledger, October 19, 1886

Almeda May Evans, in her 16th year, daughter of Dr. A. K. and Mary E. Evans, died on Tuesday evening, at the residence of her parents at Pottstown Landing, Chester county. She had been ill only about a week, with neuralgic fever, and her case was not supposed to be a critical one until the morning preceding her death. This bereaement is a particularly sorrowful one, for the young girl was an only child, the last of eight children born to her parents, and she was bright, intelligent, affectionate, and gave much promise of future worth and usefulness. She was a member of the Sunday School and we believe of the congregation of Pottstown Baptist Church, and was a much esteemed pupil of Prof. J. W. Arms' Select School. Many friends of the stricken parents will earnestly sympathize with them in their poignant grief. The funeral of deceased will take place on Sunday, October 17th, at 9:30 a.m.; interment at Mount Zion Cemetery.
