Mrs. Rachel Boughter Found Dead In Bed
She Reached the Ripe Age of Eighty-six; Her End Was Entirely Unexpected --- Mrs. Boughter a Member of Emmanuel Church
"Grandma will not talk to me," cried little Harvey Boughter, No. 713 Water street, about 7 o'clock this morning after he had been to his grandmother's room to supply her with water for the morning ablutions. An investigation was made by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boughter, the child's parents, and it was found that the aged woman was cold in death. Death had been due to an attack of heart disease. Deceased was aged 80 [sic] years, 2 months and 17 days.
Deceased was the widow of Henry Boughter, of Pottstown. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Levengood and lived in Pottstown for the past twenty two years. She was born near Oley, Berks county. She is survived by the following children: Harry, with whom she resided; Mrs. James Richard, Stowe; Mrs. Amanda Smith, wife of George Smith, Chester, PA; Mrs. Mary Wentzel, Pottstown; Rachel, wife of Charles Deloplaine, Pottstown. A brother and sister also survive: Mrs. Sarah March, of Birdsboro, and Mathias Levengood, of Swanm.
She was for years a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, this place, and attended St. Peter's Church, Stowe, on various occasions. She had been ailing somewhat in health for some time but her death last night was entirely unexpected. The funeral arrangements are announced in another column.
