Jeremiah Y. Bechtel died on Wednesday, of dropsy, at the residence of his family, 39 Reed Street, Reading, aged 70 years. He was a prominent citizen, fire insurance agent and business man, had served in City Councils and in other positions in Reading. Deceased was born in Pottsgrove township, Montgomery county; was a brother of Dr. J. Y. Bechtel of Schwenksville, and had a number of relatives in Pottstown and vicinity. His wife and one son and three daughters survive him.
