Charles W. Bechtel, aged 43 years, 9 months and 20 days, died on Sunday, at the Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia. He was a son of Jacob Bechtel, 604 High street, Pottstown; formerly resided here, was a nailer in employ of the Pottstown Iron Company, but lost his sight by an aftion [?] of the eyes. For several years he had been an inmate of the Pennsylvania Working Home for Blind Men, in West Philadelphia, where, on Friday last, he had a paralytic stroke and was removed to the hospital, where his death occurred. Mr. Bechtel was a brother of Mrs. Annie Searles, wife of Thomas Searles, of Pottstown; also of John Bechtel, residing near Pittsburgh and George Bechtel, of Gibraltar, Berks county. Funeral services on Thursday next, January 17th, at 10:30 a.m. at the residence of Thomas Searles, 604 High street; interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
