"This ferry was owned by my father, Francis Marion Kirwin. My father is standing at the back of the ferry. Many times my mother would prepare dinner, she and I would walk to Polecat Creek about 1 1/2 miles from Jenks. My father would take us across on the ferry. We ate our dinner under a black walnut tree that grew on the south side of the creek."
