HAWAII MAILING LISTS

  2. Hawaiian_Genealogy_Society-akg. A mailing list, sponsored by the Hawaiian Genealogy Society, for anyone with a genealogical or historical interest in the Royal families of Hawaii.   3. HAWAII-FREEDMEN. A mailing list for anyone with a genealogical interest in Freedmen in Hawaii from all ethnic backgrounds (e.g., African, Native American, Caucasian). To subscribe send "subscribe" to [email protected] (mail mode) or [email protected] (digest mode).
  4. HI-CENSUS. A mailing list for the volunteers who are engaged in transcribing Hawaii census records in support of the USGenWeb Census Project to discuss the status of the project. Information on available records and volunteers can be found on the Census Project's Hawaii web site. If you are one of these volunteers or desire to participate in the project, send a message to Edward A. Black Sr. at [email protected] stating your current or desired role in the project and requesting that you be added to the list.
  5. HI-CENSUS-LOOKUP. A mailing list for anyone desiring a check of Hawaii census records for their ancestors. Requests should be as specific as possible and include county name, specific family of interest, and year whenever possible. In addition, those who own or have access to census records and are willing to do lookups are asked to subscribe and assist in responding to queries.   6. HI-FOOTSTEPS. A mailing list for the discussion and sharing of original Hawaii source material for genealogical purposes. No queries are allowed. To subscribe send "subscribe" to [email protected] (mail mode) or [email protected] (digest mode).
  7. HIGEN. A mailing list (part of the USGenWeb Project) for discussing the creation of a single source for all Hawaii genealogy databases. The purpose of the list is to provide a forum for the Hawaii GenWeb County Coordinators and other volunteers to discuss the project. All subscribers are welcome; however, discussions must be related to volunteer activities. Postings related to your specific research efforts are beyond the scope of the list (individuals seeking information on Hawaii or specific Hawaii counties can use the HIGenWeb Project Homepage to find information, links, or contacts to aid in their research.   15. HI-OLD-NEWS. A mailing list for the submission of abstracts, extracts and links from Hawaii newspapers published prior to 1931. Newspapers contain much of the information that may not be found elsewhere such as births, marriages, deaths, court notices, etc. They also provide community news and many fascinating details about the lives of our ancestors. A mailing list, sponsored by the Genealogy Trails History Group, for anyone with a genealogical or historical interest in the Pacific Coastal states of California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii. Genealogy Trails county hosts will use the list to announce their website updates and researchers are welcome to post their queries and brickwalls.
