  5. CAMARIN-ROOTS-ED. A mailing list for the students in Marin County taking classes in genealogy research methodology.   24. GEN-NEWBIE-L. A mailing list where people who are new to computers and genealogy may interact using a computer's email program. It's like a bouncing ball, with someone asking a question and others suggesting answers, or asking more questions. The list discusses genealogy, family history, computer applications, and a wide variety of other topics with a goal of assisting anyone who wants "community coaching" about the Internet, genealogy, computers, or whatever.   26. GENTEEN. A mailing list for teenagers and young adults who are interested in genealogical research or others who have suggestions or ideas for young genealogists. Areas that will be addressed by the list include general genealogical concerns, keeping records, finding information and clues, or any other concerns dealing with genealogy and young adults.   27. GenTips. A mailing list for for the sharing of genealogy research tips, advice and ideas. The list is useful for both beginning genealogists and experts. No geographical boundaries apply. Any topic of genealogical value is welcomed including discussion of general history to lists of favorite websites or helpful addresses for research offline.   28. GenToday. A read-only mailing list for the distribution of the online newsletter, Genealogy Today, which contains informative how-to articles on researching ancestors, tips, new books on the market, coming events and queries.   29. GEN-UNSOLVED-MYSTERIES. A mailing list for people whose family genealogies include "unsolved mysteries". Postings should include only mysterious disappearances or appearances, unsolved murders, questionable incarcerations, and other mysterious or unsolved events in an ancestor's life. Postings should not include "brick walls" since these would be repetitive of the content of other lists.   31. Missing Links Newsletter. Missing Links: A Magazine for Genealogists is a weekly e-zine, edited by Julia M. Case and published by Petunia Press, featuring articles about genealogical methods and sources worldwide as well as tales of genealogical research; information about new books and CDs; conferences, seminars, and workshops; reunions; websites; and anything (usually non-technical) that is likely to interest and/or affect at least a part of the genealogical community. Somebody's Links Newsletter is also distributed to those subscribed to this list. Individual back issues of Missing Links and Somebody's Links are available at Petunia Press, as is a fully searchable database containing all back issues of both.   32. MOMS_N_ME-ROOTS. A mailing list to aid moms of all ages, but especially those with young children, in researching their family. Also welcome are any ideas for helping mothers teach their children about their heritage and the importance of family research.   33. NEWGEN. A mailing list created to assist those who are quite new to genealogy. The list offers how-to's for everything from selecting software for your recordkeeping to figuring out why your computer is misbehaving. For the really new genealogist, a Mentor will be assigned to help you, not only on the list but also in finding your way to the many excellent sources on the Internet.   34. QUERIES. A mailing list for the posting of genealogical queries (about any one living any place at any time) and the discussion of queries as a tool for genealogical research (e.g., what makes a good query, how to construct them, where to post them). The list members will become the 'experts' by sharing their views and providing tips on queries with each other.   35. RESEARCH-HOWTO. A mailing list for those who are just getting started in genealogy research and those who are not novices but need information on where to go when "dead ends" are encountered. This list will deal with such things as courts' records, other official documents, ships' logs, genealogy societies, on-line databases, web Pages, mailing lists, historical societies, libraries dedicated to genealogy, locations of LDS Genealogy Centers, and any other subjects that arise in the discussion of Genealogy Tips, Tricks, Methods, Techniques, etc. Surname searches or any other specific ancestor searches are not an appropriate topic for this list.   38. RootsWeb-Review. The Rootsweb Review contains news and notes from RootsWeb.com and is available to anyone and sent automatically to everyone subscribed to one of the RootsWeb-hosted genealogy mailing lists.   39. SENIOR-NEWBIE. A mailing list for people of all ages who would like help learning to use the internet and/or their computer for genealogy purposes in a safe environment, without being made to feel stupid.   40. Somebodys Links Newsletter. Somebody's Links Newsletter: Genealogical Treasures Found is an e-zine, edited by Julia M. Case and published one to four times per month by Petunia Press, featuring notices of genealogical treasures found (such as photos, diaries, and family Bibles) and looking for homes. Somebody's Links is distributed to those subscribed to the list for Missing Links: A Magazine for Genealogists.
