It is noteworthy that in the 1881 Census his wife is shown as aged 69 yet
they have a 3 year-old son. The explanation may lie in the other member
of the household, Margaret Evans aged 23, born in Pencarreg as was David
Jeremiah. She is recorded in the census as David's daughter and married,
which leads one to suppose that the son was hers rather than David's -
but in that case why the Jeremiah surname rather than Evans? For the
moment, the child is shown here according to the listing in the 1881
census, ie David's son.
