Notes for John JEREMIAH

John started life as the son of Benjamin and Anne in the Parish of
Goytre. At age 18 he is at Pentrepiod, Trevethin but by the time of the
1891 Census (his age then shown as 30) he is in Merthyr, working as a
painter, plumber and gas-fitter, married to Margaret. Evidently his
business was successful, since by the time he died in 1929 aged 66 he was
a company director with an address in Notting Hill, as well as a large
house in The Walk, Merthyr where his wife seems to have stayed. There are
no children recorded.
Admon [with Will] was granted at Llandaff on 8 June 1929 to Margaret,
Widow and Lilian Harris, Spinster. Probate records indicate that John
died on 17 Feb 1929 at 16 Ladbroke Gardens, London W11 [cemetery records
mis-spell this as Ladbrook]. Estate valued at 34,542.11s.3d.
Cemetery records [held on computer at Merthyr Tydfil Borough Council]
indicate that the "owner" of the grave is Gwen Mary Jenkins of Buckland
House, Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil.
