In his Will [SD 1785/156] made on 19 April 1784 he is described as a
Yeoman. The Will was witnessed by Lewis Lewis, Serjeant, Thomas Powell
and Richard David. The text reads: "I give and devise to Ann my beloved
wife all my lands situate, lying and being in the parish of Llangathen
commonly called and known by the name of Pant-y-ffunon or otherwise
Funnon-wen.............." There is no mention of any other relative.
Probate was granted 9 Sep 1785.
The Llangathen parish Vestry Book [County Archives, Carmarthen) records
that in 1789 the "Wid: Wm Jeremiah" was paid a parish pension from
February of that year, which continued until her death in 1798.
Throughout that time her own name was never used.
