For convenience this family is called The Eagle Public House, Tirdeunaw
family.
Apart from the children noted on the family page, William and Elizabeth
had the following children who died in infancy:
Anne d 23 Aug 1835 aged 9 mths
Josiah d 15 Oct 1838 aged 3
David d 30 Mar 1843 aged 8 mths
The Petty Assize records (originals in the Llangyfelach Parish Minute
Book 1845-53 at the County Archives, Swansea] show that he was granted a
licence for the Eagle House, Tirdeynau on 5 September 1845. This licence
was renewed annually for as long as the book was kept.
In the 1841 census William is described as a Joiner/Publican, and in the
1851 census as a Carpenter/Victualler.
