In the 1841 Census William was shown as a carpenter, aged 30, living with
his wife in Morriston PB & MB.
He is listed in the 1845/46 Electoral Register.
The Petty Assize records (originals in the Llangyfelach Parish Minute
Book 1845-53 at the County Archives, Swansea] show that he was granted a
licence for the Castle Inn, Morriston on 5 September 1845.This licence
was renewed annually for as long as the book was kept.
In the 1851 Census he is shown as a Farmer, aged 45 and born in
Llangyfelach, with 100 acres and ten men. His address is given as Castle
Inn, Morriston.
In the 1861 Census he is shown as a Widower aged 55, a Farmer with 150
acres and 3 labourers.
