Family tradition is that David was confined to a private mental
instiution in Gloucestershire, where he lived to a ripe old age. His
father George in his Will (probate granted 16 April 1912) appointed his
second wife Mary Althea "to visit my son David Jeremiah from time to time
and to see that he has all things reasonably necessary for his comfort
and maintenance".
Barnwood House Hospital, where David died, is now called The Manor
Nursing Home, run by the Barnwood Hospital Trust. Its records are in the
Gloucestershire Record Office. They include Agreements and orders for
receipt of patients (inc doctors' certificates) from 1860-1965; case
files c. 1920s-1965.
