KENNARD
CEMETERY
This cemetery is located on Hwy 171 south of Parker in the very southern edge of Johnson
County. It is fenced, neatly mowed, and has some of the most graceful, ornate, marble
gravestones I have ever seen. One of the more ornate headstones appears to be 10-12' tall;
a couple have entire Bible passages engraved on the back of them. Engraved on one of the more
elaborate stones in small letters on its side is: "Steam Marble and Granite Works, Gilmore
and Scott, Proprs., Sherman, TX." 1989, Sharon Peel.
