The Townland of Straide is the home of Straide Friary, a 13th Century Dominican Abbey located between Castlebar and Foxford in County Mayo, Ireland. The Friary is home to some impressive 15th Century carvings and beautifully preserved windows like this one that provide great photographic opportunities! Michael Davitt, Mayo's famous Land Reform Architect is buried in the Abbey's graveyard.
