New Grange, a 5000 year old Passage Tomb and Temple, Bru Na Boinne, County Meath, Ireland

New Grange is one of several Passage Tombs at Bru Na Boinne, a World Heritage Site in County Meath, Ireland. It was constructed about 5000 years ago; the quality of the workmanship and integrity of the structure is most impressive. Tours are available to both New Grange and Knowth but New Grange is the only Tomb you can enter. Every year on the Winter Solstice (the shortest day of the year) the suns rays travel down the passage and light the sacred inner chamber. The museum and tombs are well worth a visit and not to be missed!
