Irish Families in District 19 of the 1851 Huddersfield England Census Records with Surnames A-C
If a lodger or visitor living with a family is acknowledged as being related to the head of the household they will be included with that family even though their surname may be out of alphabetical order.
Regarding Surname Carney: There is a James Carney age 2 born in Huddersfield, documented in the D-F section with the Dogherty family, lodgers from Armagh and the Megrinier family from Wismay Ireland. Note that Michael Carney, a nephew of Thomas Corkeran who was born in Yorkshire is living with them in the record below. There is a Martin and Mary Carney family on Barker's Yard in the 1841 Huddersfield England census with a son Michael age 13, who it would seem might fit the Michael Carney listed with Thomas and Margaret Corcoran listed below; however, he is listed as being born in Ireland not Yorkshire, England.
