Irish Families in District 17 of the 1851 Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England Census Record
District 17 was described as covering the following areas in the census description of District 18 in Ancestry.com, 1851 England Census for Huddersfield England: "All that part of the Township of Huddersfield comprising East side Manchester Street from the Top of John Street to the top of South Parade including Glass Alley, West Side Manchester Street, Granby Street, Macauley Street, Market Street from the West Side of New Street to Booth's Corner (Cloth Hall Street."

Regarding the McGuires/ Maguires of Huddersfield: Frank McGuire, a McGuire descendent from Australia whose ancestors were married in Huddersfield identified the following marriage of Michael McGuire to Emma Hoyle on January 7, 1850 in the St Patrick's Church records. Michael was the son of Michael and Ellen McGuire (Nee Lawler) and Emma the daughter of James and Ann Hoyle (nee Laud); all were residents of Huddersfield when the marriage took place. According to him, Michael Senior died in 1849 and wife Emma in 1851. He also identified an earlier marriage in nearby Almondbury (a southeast Suburb of Huddersfield) of Michael Mcguire to Ellen Sulloven on June 27 1822. He has also been doing some analysis of the identified origins in Ireland of the McGuires living in Yorkshire; he like me is trying to determine the specific origins of his line in Ireland. His ancestors Michael and Emma McGuire are listed below living on 131 Manchester Street with their son John and Michael's widowed mother Ellen.
