Corcoran Families (and all Surname Variations) Identified in the 1851 Wolverhampton Civil Parish, Wolverhampton Eastern Subregistration District, Staffordshire, England and Research into their Irish Origins
It is clear that a significant number of the Irish Immigrants in Wolverhampton, England originated from the Connaught areas of County Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo and Galway.
Omissions: There was a John and Ann Cookson in district 1cc. He was a paper hanger from Shrewsbury, Shropshire and she was from Walsall, Stafforshire. Her name was a bit difficult to read- almost like Cockron, but he was clearly Cookson so I have not included them in this compilation. Thomas Cork (a brewer) and family of District 1d were born in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire. His name was clearly Cork.
Keep in mind that the connections I draw are what appear to me to be the same family and need to be further analyzed to make sure the conclusion is correct (hopefully with supporting evidence such as GRO marriage records and baptismal records). Please use this information with that caveat in mind so that nothing is assumed and no stones are left unturned to assure it's your family and the connection is accurate.
