The Surname Corcoran (Cochrane) in County Roscommon Townlands of Slater's 1846 National Commercial Directory of Ireland

The following information was acquired from the CD book Slater's Commercial Directory of Ireland, 1846. It is part of the Trinity college of Dublin Library Collection. This CD ROM is available through Archive CD Books Ireland and is part of their Archive CD Books Project. This CD Book covers many of the Major Townlands of Ireland. Each Townland listed has a brief description of its attributes, a listing of the Nobility, Gentry and Clergy, Major Public Office Holders, Schools, Churches, Professionals, Trades, Hotels, Post Offices, Available Coach Routes, Public Institutions and a variety of other miscellaneous information.

The Towns in County Roscommon that are covered in this Book CD are Ballinasloe, Boyle, Carrick-On-Shannon, Castlerea, Elphin, Roscommon and Strokestown.

The Corcoran surname was present in the following Townlands: Ballinasloe (Cochrane and Corcoran), Boyle (Corcoran) and Castlerea (Corcoran).

Of note as far as my Irish Family Tree research is concerned: there was a Martin Coffy in Ballinasloe (along with the Corcoran, Cochran Surnames), several Brennans in Boyle (along with the Corcoran Surname) and a Coffey in Castlerea along with the Corcorans mentioned below.
