Corcoran Families (and all Surname Variations) Identified in the 1851 Liverpool, Howard Sub Registration District, Lancashire, England and Research into their Irish Origins

It is clear that a significant number of the Irish Immigrants in Liverpool Lancashire originated from the Connaught areas of County Mayo and County Roscommon, Ireland. This may be the final destination for a few, a stop on the way to search for work for others and a starting point of a journey abroad for many more.

Other potential Corcoran families: In District 1n, there was a John Cocklan (17 grandson, shopman born in Ireland) and Frances Cocklan (12 grand daughter born in Ireland) who were living with Bridget Burke, a 59 year old widowed midwife born in Ireland. It is unlikely they are Corcorans, but if they were trying to spell them phonetically, it is a possibility.
