Corcoran Families (and all Surname Variations) in Kiltimagh (Killedan), County Mayo, Ireland Roman Catholic Parish Records with Spouse's Surnames A-C

There are a smattering of Corcoran families in Kiltimagh Roman Catholic Parish. This compilation is a work in progress and will be added to in time as I complete film 926012 and later when I obtain 1279231. The records listed will be from microfilm 926012 unless noted otherwise.

I am also documenting all of the baptisms and marriages sponsored/witnessed by Corcorans; although these are not included online, they can yield valuable clues such as "circles of friends" and possible townlands that might provide a missing link. There are additional details in these records such as date of birth, sponsors, priests, and at times notes in the margin detailing marriages and deaths. If you feel that your family is in this compilation, please contact me and I will share with you the additional details.

Regarding the Pat Corcoran and Mary Caroll Family: I have found a marriage record and baptismal records for two children James and Mary, and another online compilation lists a baptismal record for a Patrick from 1871. According to William Kelly, a Genealogist and descendent of this line, daughter Mary Theresa immigrated to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area around 1891 , met William Kelly from Tyroe, Graighamanagh, County Kilkenny and married him on June 18, 1902. Kudo's to him for sharing this information demonstrating her migration to America. This marriage is present in the Philadelphia Marriage Index 1885-1951 compilation on ancestry.com. A naturalization record for Mary Theresa's husband William confirms her birth in Kiltimagh, County Mayo, Ireland. The question is what became of Mary's brothers Patrick and James and could the Patritius Corcaron and Brigida Burke listed below in a marriage record be Pat's parents? A Civil Marriage record that he obtained suggests that Pat resided in Bohomore and that his father was Pat Corcoran. Mary's father was Mike Carroll and she resided in Carrohoor. Both were widows at the time of their marriage. Many questions remain! We would love to hear from any descendents of these Corcoran and Carroll families so that we can fill in the gaps!

If you feel that you are a descendent of one of these families please contact me as I am trying to connect the Corcorans in these church records with families that immigrated to England and beyond. If we all put our individual pieces of the puzzle together, maybe we can trace our lines back further in Ireland!
