Coffees (Coffey, Coffy) documented as being born in County Roscommon, Ireland in the 1871 England Census Records

The early years of the England Census records infrequently report the County of birth in Ireland, but notation of more than just the country becomes more frequent from the 1861 census on.

There was a heavy concentration of individuals with the Coffee (Coffey, Coffy) Surname in Lancashire County who were born in Ireland (no county name given). They were scattered throughout Lancashire County in over 40 different Civil Parishes. There were also at least 27 Coffeys living in London; listed as being born in Ireland. There was a smattering of Coffees noted in other counties such as Cheshire, Cornwall, Derbyshire, Devon, Durham, Essex, Glouchestershire, Hampshire, Kent, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Surrey, Suffolk and Yorkshire.

These records will be presented alphabetically by given name.

Regarding Warwickshire Coffey Family: Catherine, wife of William Coffey is listed as being born in County Roscommon Ireland. I have not included them in this compilation as Coffey is not likely to be her maiden name. Her husband William was born in County Galway, Ireland.

Regarding Bernard Coffey of Birmingham, Warwickshire: Bernard Coffey was documented as being born in Connaught Ireland. I have not included him or his family in this compilation because Connaught includes the counties of Mayo, Sligo, Galway and Leitrim in addition to County Roscommon.
