Brennan Families in Swinford (Meelick and Kilconduff) Roman Catholic Parish Records with Spouse's Surname A-C
There are additional details in these records such as date of birth, sponsors, priests, and at times notes in the margin detailing marriages and deaths. If you feel that your family is in this compilation, please feel free to contact me and I will share with you the additional details.
Please note the following: Many of the following records listed below with Brennan for both the husband and his spouse were listed with only one surname (for example Martin and Mary Brennan or Martin Brennan and Mary d.o. - ditto). There is no way to know for sure if her name is Brennan or if she has another undocumented surname. I have included them here in this section rather than the unknown section because they were listed as if they both had the surname Brennan. Secondly, in many of the records in this film it was nearly impossible to determine if the surname was Brenan or Branan.
Regarding Surname Brehany: There is a John Brennan/Mary Brehany in the Kiltimagh RCP records that list Brackloon (a Townland in Kiltimagh Civil Parish, Swinford RCP).
Regarding Surname Brennan: There is a John and Cathe Brennan family in the Kiltimagh RCP film that lists Brackloon (a Townland in Swinford RCP) as their townland. There is also a James and Margt Brennan family and a James Brennan/ Bridget Brennan Family in the same film that lists Treanlaur (a Townland in Swinford RCP) as their townland in numerous baptismal records.
Regarding Surname Broderick: I have left the Martin Bradican (Branan, Branagan) and Bridget Broderick family in this compilation even though later records reveal that his name is Bradican and not Branigan or Branan. A February 1887 baptism for Catherine of Martin Bradican and Bridget Broderick reveals that she was married in Swinford 9/21/1921. A baptismal record for James (1890) of Martin Bradican and Bridget Broderick reveals that he married in Swinford in 1914? They also had Honora in September 1893 and Martin (1896) (Roosky).
Regarding Surname Burke: There is a baptismal record for Edwardis who appears to be the son of Johan Burke or ? and Eleonora Burke in 1851. This page is extremely blurry but I don't believe that Johan is a Brenan.
Questionable Brennans: There is a baptismal record for Honor of Patritius C? and Brigida ? (Brenan, Durkan or could even be Higgins) that is nearly impossible to read in 1856 so I have not included it in this compilation. There was a baptismal record for Michael of Patritius Brown or ? and Catherina C----ny? in 1868 Cloonaghboy that I have not included because it doesn't appear to be a Brenan. I have not included a Eleonora of Jacobus Brown? and Brigida Can---? ballinf--d in 1868 (possibly Ballindrehid, Kilconduff Civil Parish) because I don't think this is a Brenan. There was a baptismal record for Michael Martinus s/o Timothius Connall and Elise ? on 11/23/1875 that appears to be Quinn but could be Brenan - (very hard to read).
