Mallow Field Club Journal
No. 11 - 1993
This is our 11th Journal. To date we have presented nearly two
hundred articles on Mallow and its people at home and abroad. We
are now finding a great interest in our Journal by Mallow people
overseas. In this Journal, side by side with local topics, are
contributions from authors as far away as Australia.
During the past year a number of visitors, attracted by our
Journal, contacted the Field Club, Valda Strauss, Maria Cahill, and
Bettina Blackell, all from Melbourne, Australia, visited us and
promised articles. Brian O'Regan from Ottowa, Canada, (descended
from O'Regans - stonemasons of Doneraile) and Denis Ahearn
[sic] of Massachusetts, U.S.A., also researching his
North Cork roots, contacted us.
Increasingly we are making contact with our Mallow exiles
throughout the world and we invite people to inform their relatives
abroad about our Journal which will be of help to them in tracing
their roots.
