Mallow Field Club Journal
No. 8 - 1990
Again this year we are pleased to publish Mallow Field Club
Journal No. 8. This Journal contains a further collection of articles
relevant to Mallow and surrounding areas. We welcome a number
of new contributors and we are pleased also to have articles
concerning Mallow people in Canada, Australia, Africa, and London.
We hope this publication will be of particular interest to genealogists.
There is renewed interest in environmental studies including
local history in the curricula of our schools both primary and post
primary. With the current trends to encourage development in
rural areas, especially with our close involvement in European
integration, we believe that historical research of this type will
become more and more important.
We thank all our contributors to the Journals to date, and
articles concerning Mallow and the surrounding area will be most
welcome in the future.
