This is a white marble monument set in grey marble on the wall
of the Church of Ireland. It bears a Chalice type vase with the
eternal flames at the top. It is most decorative. Sacred to the
memory of Mary Wandersford Esq. daughter of Thomas Kavanagh Esq.
who was born February 5th 1808, and died February 10th 1822.
With innocence and of simplicity of youth were blended in her
character, The Christaian Graces of a mature age; Her
disposition by nature cheerfull and most effectionate received
its bias and direction from the precepts of that Gospel - which
taught her to remember her creator in the days of her youth and
prepared her to receive in joyful hope an early summons to her
Lord. The mild and gentle lustre of her dawning virtues gave a
flattering prisage of that bright day to which her parents
looked forward as their solace and reward; To record its
untimely close afflicted but not repining. They have erected
this memorial of their affection and of their humble hope. That
he who purifies the heart by sorrow will so santify their grief.
