They moved from Indiana to Franklin County, Ohio between 1853 and 1874. Pasted in the front of our Myers family bible is the following obituary dated 1915. Can you identify this person? "SPANGLER. --- Mary A. Myers was born in Wells County, Indiana, June 24, 1840. At the age of eleven years her parents moved to Fairfield county, Ohio, where she grew to womanhood. In 1860 she united with the Evangelical Lutheran church at Stoutsville, Ohio, and has ever since lived a Christian life. October 21, 1860, she was married to Daniel W. Spangler also of Fairfield County, O. Family bible also contains a newspaper clipping dated 1930, congratulating the 60th wedding anniversary of William and Elizabeth Myers of Franklin County, Ohio. Willaim Myers (1844-1930) and Elizabeth Dukes? Myers (1851-1932) are buried in Franklin County, Ohio. 1880 census lists William Myers as a native of Indiana, and his parents were born in Wurtemberg (Germany). 1860 census of Wells County, Indiana shows a Christian W. SWANK

I'm rather new at this although I'll be 70 this year. I'm trying to find information about my grandparents. All I know is that my father and his twin sister were born in Bluffton on either January 30 or 31, 1896. His name was Ronald Earl Swank, and his twin's name was Reta Swank (that is the correct spelling). Their fathers name was Will (or William Swank, and I'm trying to find their mother's (my grandmother's) maiden name. I could have been Coats but I'm just not sure. She went by either Ella Swank or Nancy Ellen Swank. Will Swank died in Marion, IN in 1930 and Ella Swank died in South Bend in 1960. Ronald died in South Bend in 1971 and Reta died (I don't know where) in the flu epidemic of 1918. Any help or ideas as to where I can look would be appreciated. Many thanks. Update: Hi - I found some more re the SWANK namd in Bluffton. My father, Ronald Earl Swank, was born in Bluffton on Jan. 31, 1896. His father was William Swank and his mother was Ella Davis. According to the health department in Bluffton, there is no record of Ronald's Twin sister's (my aunt Reta Swank) birth. I do know that I have photogtaphs of both of them taken in Carthage, Tennessee in about 1908, and that I've been told that Reta died in the flu epidemic of 1917-18. So far I've been unable to find anything more about William Swank or Ella Davis - birhtplace, date, etc.

WARNER, STOUT

I am looking for a Jessie Mae(May?) WARNER. She was born in 1880 I believe. I do not know where, but she married in Indiana to a Homer Earl STOUT. They had a son, Roy Laverne STOUT, who was born in Bluffton, Indiana in 1902. Jessie and Homer supposedly married in 1901. Jessie was Native American, of which tribe, I do not know. Rumor has it that Roy was not born of Jessie, but another woman, as Jessie could not bear children. Jessie and Homer moved from Indiana, to Oregon (Portland, Multnomah,OR) shortly after Roy's birth. Homer owned a bakery in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Roy died in 1964 in the Longview/Kelso area Cowlitz Co., WA. This is all I know. Roy is my grandfather, and I need to fix this link to continue on my searches.

LAUDIG, EILAR

My Great paternal Grandparents were married Dec. 28, 1852 in Henry Co., they were Rebecca LAUDIG and Benjamin Eilar. He was from Wayne Co., near Hagerstown. They subsequently had my Grandfather John M. Eilar, Sr., b. 19 April 1855. I have always hoped there was a family Bible out there telling me what that M. stands for. My father John M. Eliar, Jr. thought it was Martin, but another source has it as Monroe. Would also like to know who Rebecca LAUDIG's parents were. The Eilar children besides my Grandfather:
Mary Elizabeth Eilar, b. 18 Nov. 1857
Jacob Lonzo Eilar, b. 20 Feb. 1861
Oliver Peter Eilar, b. 27 March 1863
Susanna Otilia, b. 12 Dec. 1872 There were others who died in childhood which I have not included here. Mary married J. Mack Jacobs. Oliver married Edward P. Lorenz. So their names changed of course. All had off spring in Indiana. I am mainly interested in the LAUDIG/EILAR connections but would share my information with any descendants of this couple. They are buried in Wells Co., in the Batsen Cemetery in Jackson Township. I have visited that gravesite and have his Probate Records. Thank You for any reply to this query.
