The Indiana Photographers Project is a growing database of photographers who worked in the state from 1840-1940. When completed, the book and web page will help historians, curators, genealogists, archivists, and collectors with the dating of early photographs. Besides the location information listed below, the project is gathering biographical information such as birth and death dates and places; names of parents, spouses, and children; education; other occupations; and anecdotal tidbits. Photographs of the photographers and their studios are also being sought, as well as personal papers, diaries, or business records. I am always seeking volunteers to work on the town or county level.
