Cleaning tombstone at Harrisonville cemetery for Heritage Day with
the Tippecanoe County Historical Association.
I enjoy teaching adults and children how to clean the tombstones today. Thank you everyone of you who participated. We made a big difference. New photos of the cleaned stones were posted on Findagrave Harrisonville. Simple cleaning with 4 parts water and 1 part clear ammonia is sufficient to remove most surface growth on these old limestone monuments. Rinse with plain water to start, add cleaner and scrub with a nylon brush. Start scrubbing from the bottom and go upwards. Then rinse again. We covered 1/2 of this cemetery. |
more coming later.
