Routh-Pioneer Cemetery Project 2002
February 23, 2002 workday. Our first workday.

Our thanks go out to several groups and descendants who are working
with us to make this possible.  Volunteers will attempt to restore these family stones to the best of our ability as memorial to the Routh, Rakestraw, Lowery, Driskill and other families. And to Mr. Rich Green for his services on this project.

Beginning our project we removed
all the brush from this pile of family stones.

And mapped all the stone locations.

We had the pleasure of working with the Takachsin Order of  the Arrow Scouts.!

We continued to removing each layer
of vegetation and tombstones.

The first known burial Sarah,
wife of Isaac Routh Dec. 23, 1829.

Above are some of the footstones found.
They are used to mark the foot of graves.
