COUNTY TO RENT AIRPORT LIGHT
County Attorney
Albert L. Doyle said today that the new flood light for Bendix
field, St. Joseph county airport, costing about $600 will be
rented instead of purchased, but an agreement will be attempted
whereby the light will be granted to the county by the owner
after $600 has been paid in rental fees.
This system was decided upon when it was
learned that the light is the only one of its kind in the country
available and is not a new light. It is owned in Kingsman,
Ariz., where a national air line recently abandoned a port.
Under the law the commissioners must
advertise for bids for a purchase above $200.
