The Society is a volunteer organization which is currently working on the renovation of the Vurpillat opera house, along with a few other projects going on. Membership is open to anyone interested in the history of the county and perserving it. Occasionaly we have programs and such on genealogy (that is how I got into the society). Membership includes monthly meetings and 3-4 newsletters, annual carry in dinner and various programs plus an associate membership to the Landmark Foundation of Indiana, which includes thier bi-monthly magazine "the Preservationist".
