Indiana Pioneer Cemeteries
Restoration Project
The Indiana Pioneer Cemeteries Restoration Project was begun in October 1997 as an effort to generate public awareness about the neglected pioneer cemeteries of Indiana.  The state of Indiana is home to thousands of abandoned or neglected pioneer cemeteries, the oldest of which now approach 200 years.   The goal of this project is to restore and preserve as many of these cemeteries as possible. This project was founded on the belief that we owe our pioneer ancestors a better monument than a forgotten grave amid bramble and thicket.
My name is Jack Briles and I am the Indiana PCRP Coordinator for Floyd County. If you have any questions or comments about the project, please e-mail me. If you would like to adopt an Indiana County for this project, please contact our State Coordinator, Scott Satterthwaite.

When published, it will be available
at the local public libraries.

I cannot do individual burial lookups.  My research has been devoted to FINDING cemeteries in Floyd Co.  I hope that I will be able to help you find a specific cemetery site, but please do not ask me to tell you where So-And-So is buried.  I have NO information on hand relating to individual burials, so I will have to just tell you, "I don't know."

That having been said as politely as I know how to explain the situation, you may contact me at the address below if you would like to help us with cemetery restoration in Floyd County or if I might be able to provide you with information about a specific pioneer cemetery in Floyd County.
