Are you interested in learning more about the history of Portage? Do you want to help preserve that history for the people of this area and for future generations? Join the Portage Community Historical Society!

Becoming a member is easy! Just stop in at the Alton Goin Museum and talk to one of the members on duty. You can also call for more information at the Museum.

The membership fees are as follows:

Individual $20.00 (yearly)
Family $50.00 (yearly)
Business $60.00 (yearly)

The Portage Community Historical Society holds its meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of the following months:

February April June August October
*every other month Feb.-Oct.

The meetings are held at
Woodland Park
2100 Willowcreek Rd.
Sycamore Hall (main building, downstairs meeting room)

A program or presentation is usually given on interesting topics related to Portage history or historical preservation in general. Refreshments and cookies are also served. Please join us and learn more about the city where you live. We'd love to have you!
