These two pages of photos are dedicated to the memory of Frieda Clayton (1944--2007).
The Newburgh, Indiana Town Council made the move from the old Town Hall,
200 State Street to the new Town Hall, 23 W. Jennings St., Newburgh, In.
at 5:30 p.m. July 19, 2006.
Reginald Porter,
the town president from Newburgh, England and his wife Shirley made the trip
from England to be present for the event. Newburgh, England is the sister-city
of Newburgh, Indiana. England's Union Flag and Porter's gavel were also
carried in the parade.
The procession left the old Town Hall building
led by bagpiper Mary Fanning, next in the procession were the Town Hall colors moved by the Ohio Valley
Chapter, INSSAR., assisted by the WOSAR, Ladies Auxillary followed by the
Newburgh Town Council and interested citizens.
The council members wheeled
their chairs down the street which was closed to traffic during the
move. Taking their chairs was symbolic of moving Newburgh's "Seat" of Government
to a new location.

door onto State Street.
With Mary Fanning playing bagpipes we begin the procession to the new Town Hall on Jennings Street
We begin our procession down State Street.
Compatriot J. D. Strouth was given the honor of carrying the British Union Flag.
Notice the chairs are being pushed down the street by town council members.
