Every Name Index to Sturdevant/Dennis Cemetery (containing 9 records)

The Sturdevant/Dennis Cemetery is located in Ross Township on 89th Avenue, east of Randolph Street. There is a house on the north side of the road and the cemetery is located east and north of that house. The cemetery cannot be seen from the road. It is up on a sand hill and is very hard to find because it is overgrown.

The cemetery was read by Mrs. McBride and Mrs. Watkins for the D.A.R. in July 1956. We do appreciate their reading the cemetery at that time. The Eagle Scouts visited the cemetery in June 1988 and found a few of the stones. It was so overgrown in August of 1992 that it was not possible for Northwest Indiana Genealogical Society to update this cemetery. The people who own the property where the cemetery is located said the name of the cemetery was Sturdevant and did not know where the other name came from. These records are from the previous reading.
