How do You Nominate?

The Genealogist of the Year Award is given to a living individual who has promoted genealogy in La Porte County, IN by publications, programs, and/or by assisting others in their search for source records. This would also include someone who has abstracted, indexed, and/or taught about source records or methodology. Nominations are open to any person promoting genealogy in La Porte County, IN. Neither the nominee nor the nominator have to be a member of the La Porte County, IN Genealogical Society. Forms to nominate an individual are available by emailing [email protected] with Genealogist of the Year in the subject line. Fill out the form in your own words describing why you are nominating this person for Genealogist ofThe Year. Mail it to the address at the top of the form. You may include copies of newspaper clippings, photographs of activities or other examples of accomplishments, if available. If you need assistance, you will be given a contact name and email address with the nominating form.

The deadline for nominations of the current year is September 30. There will be no carry-over of nominees from one year to the next. This is a one-time award which will be presented at the December meeting of the La Porte County, IN Genealogical Society each year.
